It feels like the cacophony of lies, conspiracy theories and bullshit cranked out by the GOP is going unchecked in the public square..Hakeem Jeffries and Jamie Raskin can blast them on the floor of the House, but who hears it? How can their kind of pushback get heard across the country, and how can we get the media to cover the issues that really matter?
In all matters tRump everyone is quick to point out that he will be untouchable because of his campaign for president. My question is simple… why? Where is the law written that a criminal cannot be indicted and participate in a trial during a campaign? Why is everyone seemingly hands off?
Hi Steve. I am appreciative of your work and the opportunity you give listeners to interact with you. In your most recent commentary I agree with your perspective that Trump's rise to power is a symptom that reveals an unhealthy imbalance in the socioeconomic conditions in the US. As I see it, Trump lacks the ability to unite angry and frustrated lower and middle-class voters to join together, so in all likelihood his ambitions will lead to failure. However as I see it, I witness he has opened a door that a more savvy leader could also walk through and establish a successful overthrow of the status quo, either as a democratic socialist, or fascist. Do you see anyone on the horizon who has this potential?
